Overview

This project allows students in 4th grade at Rural Hall School and 8th graders at Kennedy Learning Center to collaborate on North Carolina social studies.

  • Slide show on topics to begin &/or end presentation segment
  • QA or Jeopardy or other interactive wrap-up

 

Objectives

This project should have the following impact on learning:

  • Content with collaboration of peers
  • Peer teaching & editing
  • Use of communication skills with web 2.0 tools
  • Interactivity with students during presentation

  • Lost Colony - 4th grade student reporter & two 8th graders & five 4th graders
  • Background/scenery - 4th students, Mr. Moss (art teacher), Ms. McDermon
  • Edit reports - students & teachers
  • Jeopardy Game questions - students & teachers

  • Editing: January 30-February 2, 2009
  • Rehearsals: held separately at individual schools
  • Dress Rehearsal: Monday, February 9--8:30-9:15 AM with 8th graders and 9:30-10 AM with interactive school in Kentucky & Concordia Lutheran School & Megaconference Jr. tech team
  • Presentation: February 19, 2009 - 11 AM

I'm so proud of all the stiudents and teachers. They worked hard and prepared and learned new skills. They presented to an interactive audience and a world audience. Great job!
